The story of: Zena

I was diagnosed with NF1 when I was six months old. My mother said that when she heard the diagnosis, she was scared because she didn’t know what NF was or how it would affect me.

It’s been a difficult adventure. Sometimes it was very difficult, sometimes it was much better. School was harder, but that didn’t stop me from realizing my dreams. Today, at the age of 33, I’ve had a total of five operations on my left eye.

NF has shown me that being different is one of the most beautiful things. Living with NF is a daily challenge.
