Sherbrooke University Hospital (CHUS)

The CHUS neurofibromatosis clinic provides specialized care for children and adolescents with NF1. The team includes Dr. Amélie Nadeau, a neuropediatrician, Dr. Pascale Maurice, a pediatrician, and Ms. Caroline Boutin, a nurse coordinator.

The medical team can also count on the support of Dr. Stéphanie Vairy, a pediatric hematologist-oncologist, who is the reference in the event of:

  • The management of any mass suspected clinically or on imaging
  • Plexiform neurofibromas requiring drug/surgical treatment
  • Optic pathway glioma in need of treatment.

Many other specialists, such as geneticists, ophthalmologists, orthopedists, and dermatologists, can be consulted as needed.

The CHUS clinic also has a neurogeneticist who provides follow-up care once the patient has reached adulthood.
