CHU de Québec – Université Laval/Pavillon Enfant-Jésus

The neurogenetic diseases clinic at CHU de Québec – Université Laval has been run since 2008 by neurologist Dr. Nicolas Dupré. The clinic is located in the Pavillon Enfant-Jésus of the CHU de Québec – Université Laval. It provides multidisciplinary care for patients with neurofibromatosis and promotes access, efficiency, quality and safety of care by integrating various fields of expertise. The clinic brings together several medical disciplines and specialties, including neurology, neurosurgery, oncology and genetics. Quality and excellence of care are a priority for the clinic.  The clinic also contributes to training the next generation of doctors in a university hospital setting.

For clients who request it, the clinic has a well-established research component. In particular, the neurogenetics directory is a good example of the clinic’s added value in research. The directory facilitates the transmission of information on the existence of research projects. Collaborations with basic researchers and other clinicians concerned with neurofibromatosis have also been established. For example, sophisticated tissue engineering models are being developed to better understand neurofibromatosis.

It’s important to know that to be seen by an NF specialist at this clinic, you absolutely must have a referral or a request from a healthcare professional. If you have a request and would like a consultation, simply call 418-649-5980, option 2.
