CHU de Québec – Université Laval/Centre mère-enfant Soleil
In 2022, the neurocutaneous diseases clinic at CHUL’s Centre mère-enfant Soleil (CMES) was set up following several months of work by neuropediatrician Renée-Myriam Boucher. Essentially orchestrated by Catherine Michaud-Gosselin, a nurse practitioner specialized in pediatric care (IPSSP), this project is a concrete demonstration of the added value of the latter’s role within an organization such as CHU de Québec.
The neurocutaneous diseases clinic offers personalized service and a care trajectory based on the latest available research. The team of professionals involved with the 150 children who are followed each year also includes Dr. Nicolas Chrestian, a neurologist and head of the clinic, and Dr. Valérie Larouche, a neuro-oncologist. The CHUL’s CMES also boasts a number of specialties, including ophthalmology, genetics, dermatology, orthopedics, neuropsychology and a developmental clinic, providing holistic care for all possible co-morbidities under one roof.
